As veterans of the StepUp Walk, we decided to shake things up a bit this year and join forces with a couple of our nearest and dearest lucky few friends to amplify the fun!
Meet our new team: The Lucky H.E.W.
About three years ago, our worlds were all rocked when we all received a prenatal diagnosis of Trisomy 21, more commonly known as Down syndrome (if we could only rewind time and tell ourselves then what these little girls would be doing now)! Our doctors all directed us to Down Syndrome Innovations (DSI) and what a blessing that was as it is how all three families first met! DSI has provided support, resources, and connected us to even more of the best mama friends + families (commonly referred to as “The Lucky Few”) in the Kansas City area! To know our girls is to love them, for exactly who they are!
Without further adieu, meet the gals who make us “The Lucky H.E.W.”
Hattie — Ellis — Winnie
Hattie Beverlin: the youngest of the “Beverlin Babes”, joined big sisters Kennedy and Elliott in May of 2021. A few of her favorites include: her sisters , dancing to music , swimming , berries cheese , being ornery and making others smile.
Ellis Speer: Heading in to year 4 (she turns 4 in September!) Ellis loves Gymnastics (or “nastics” as she calls it), her love for dogs of all kinds is constant, and she loves her school, friends, and “the bus”.
Windsor Oehrlein: started her girl gang in June of 2021, and has since been joined by little sister Maddie. A few of her favorites include: writing in her workbook and talking on the phone, cookies, playing at her water table, dancing to Taylor Swift and Mickey Mouse.
Please join the Beverlins’, Speers’ and Oehrleins’ as we celebrate Down syndrome and all of the love Hattie, Ellis and Winnie bring into the world. We truly are The Lucky H.E.W and thank you for joining us on this great adventure we didn’t even know we needed!
