Our family has always been close. But when Wade was born in July of 2018, he brought a brand new definition of unconditional love to our family! Wade shows us each day how to push through challenges and find joy in each experience: be it pushing cars along a track or chasing his big sisters and furry sister…his dog Rosie!

Wade is in 1st Grade this year and doing WONDERFUL so far! On Sundays, Wade enjoys learning about Jesus with his friends during his Kid City small group at ReStrore Community Church. Wade loves Hot Wheels, basketball, Kpop Demon Hunter, swimming UNDER water, spontaneous dance parties with cousins and friends, and is always up for a walk or playing outside.

The Step Up Walk means so much to our family. Down Syndrome Innovations (DSI) was the first agency to connect with our family when Wade’s parents first learned that they would be welcoming a baby with Down Syndrome…while he was still in utero! DSI of Greater Kansas City continues to work tirelessly to provide “life-changing services for people with Down syndrome, their families, and communities. [They provide] expert resources, comprehensive support, and partnership with families [that] empower and enable individuals with Down syndrome to live to their fullest potential.”
