What a joyous year it has been. Owen welcomed a new teammate! Sweet baby Finn. His mother was one of our favorite babysitters when Owen was in elementary school. We have loved getting to know precious Finn. Owen wants to support the next generation and has launched his team for another year to help give Finn the same support he has received. (As you can see from the picture Owen thinks he is Mufasa and Finn is baby Simba.)
Down Syndrome Innovations (DSI) offers comprehensive services including, speech therapy, employment training camps, and social skills classes, just to name a few. Owen has added a communication device to help facilitate conversations. He uses it to take orders while working the coffee cart at East and will soon use it in the community for job skills class. Owen and Carrie also completed an emotions regulates class at DSI. Let’s say we both benefited from it!! Owen is continuing speech therapy, social group and a Saturday community workout class!
The walk is Saturday, October 4th at Kauffman Stadium. We will be supporting our new teammate, so no pressure to attend. If you can, please make a donation of any amount to support Owen and Finn so they can to grow into their best selves! Even $21 from all who love him will make a huge impact!
