Thomas Heyburn will turn 5 in October, making him the young-un in our walk trio. Thomas is a ball of joy. He loves music and dancing, running and playing hide and seek, and spending time with his two brothers Peter (8) and Simon (1) and friends at school. Thomas is determined, brave, kind, and brings a smile to anyone he meets. We are excited for the Step UP Walk because it’s a great chance to celebrate Thomas and all his amazing friends who also rock an extra chromosome.
Callum (Cal) Komoroski turned 5 this year and just made the big transition to kindergarten. He is already a hit with his classmates and loves going to the same school as his older brother Levi (7). This past year he’s really come into his own and gained tremendous confidence. Cal is a year-round lover of Christmas and Halloween, an avid Wiggles fan, and will never miss a chance to get an ice cream or break out in dance when he hears a good tune.
DSI has been with us since Cal’s birth. We look forward to the annual Christmas and Summer celebrations, as well as World Down Syndrome Day where we can connect with other Down syndrome families. Additionally, Cal loves Young Athletes and is making many new friends of his own in the Down syndrome community.
Timothy Ott is 5 years old and aside from his biggest achievement of being the best hugger in the family…his second greatest achievement has been walking this year! He does not enjoy long walks on the beach yet…but with a few more years of PT he just might! Timothy has 3 older siblings (Amelia 12, Eliza 10, and his brother and roommate John, who is 9). They all think Timothy is just the best and are so thankful to have him as their little bro.
We are grateful to have this event each year, where we can gather with friends and family to celebrate how lucky we are to have a loved one with Down syndrome.
Teddy Richter is 4 and a half and is jumping in the car with his friends this year to join Strollin’ With My Chromies! He loves anything sweet (as long it’s not a vegetable), throwing anything (not just balls), dancing, and playing cars and trains with his little brother, Sam (2). He tolerates his dog sister, Penny, but loves her a lot deep down. Catch him watching Bluey or jamming out to a Disney music mix on the daily, but he never forgets to blow a kiss goodbye or give a hug to anyone who will take one!
We’re excited to join our team this year with our fellow DS families and can’t wait for some serious fun!
